CIPE Advising

The Centre for International & Professional Experience (CIPE) advisor plays an integral role in a student’s professional and personal development over their course with Yale-NUS. In their first year, students are assigned a CIPE advisor who will meet with them regularly throughout their time at Yale-NUS to discuss their ambitions and help make plans to achieve them. This can include discussing what CIPE programmes to pursue and considering which summers/semesters it makes more sense to participate in a certain programme over another, proofreading their applications to CIPE programmes, preparing the students for interviews, aiding them in the internship application process, and many other one-on-one interactions. This also allows CIPE advisors to become familiar with their advisees’ personal ambitions and to direct the advisees to programmes they can benefit from. Additionally, while every CIPE staff member is knowledgeable on all CIPE programming offered, advisors can also direct advisees to fellow CIPE staff members who can better address individual questions. In short, the CIPE advisor programme allows students to have a one-stop holistic contact for all of their CIPE needs.
